“Art is viewed as those practices that embrace the sensuous particularities of the experienced world at the scale of human life and imagination whereas contemporary science seeks its truths through phenomena ‘artificially’ elicited by its technical instrumentation and apparatuses that can ‘see’ what the human cannot experience.” (Scientist/artist Gary Anderson) 

My sculptures stem from an attention on microscopy that honour the three-century long scientific tradition of its transformative power as a fundamentally transposed epistemology that once brought artists and scientists together. The experimentation soon developed into the state-of-the-art immersive sculptures and installations that re-ground into engaging, intellectually transposed embodiments while offering exciting visual sensations.

Nano Poetics is a product of collaboration between scientist/artist Gary Anderson and Anna Ng. This sculptural instrument parses the potentialities of Nano-scale microscopy as a mode of encountering and re-imaging the world. It is a simple yet aesthetically functional, interactive sculpture that borrows then magnifies operational elements from conventional microscopes, and enveloped the installation in five channel video projection of retooled micro-videographies that fills the gallery space.
